Anyone interested must attend a mandatory informational workshop that would explain the requirements and the application in order to be eligible.
Each district has separate applications and applicants must apply on the district where his business is located. The business must not have more than seven full-time employees, must be operational for at least one year, and must not be part of a national chain.
Winners could each receive up to $5,000 in grants, depending on the district's package. It could be used for funding in inventory/supplies, minor renovations, marketing, commercial liability insurance, security system, professional services, and other business equipment.
Every year, the Miami-Dade County in partnership with Neighbors and Neighbors Association has been providing opportunities to qualified businesses to interact with the local government which would in turn bridge the gap between the two.
