There are all kinds of small business grant competitions offered throughout the year. Some are local and others are national. VerticalResponse, Inc. an American company providing software for sending email marketing, online surveys and direct mail for direct marketing campaigns, recently published on their blog site their recommendations for 5 great small business grant competitions.

5 great small business grant competitions

#1 - American Small Business Championship - offered every year by small business association SCORE and warehouse giant Sam’s Club. Two small businesses from each state win a $1,000 Sam’s Club gift card, an all-expenses-paid trip to a regional business symposium, and a year of free mentoring from SCORE.

#2 - FedEx Think Bigger - awards grants ranging from $5,000 to $25,000. Grants include 8 third-place winners, one second-place winner and one grand prize winner who gets a $25,000 grant.

#3 - Miller Tap The Future - is an annual competition that lets entrepreneurs pitch for a chance to earn more than $200K to fund their business, business seminars, live pitch opportunities, meeting business moguls like Daymond John from ABC’s “Shark Tank” and more.

#4 - Mission Main Street Grants - sponsored by Chase, this small business grant competition gives 20 small business grants of $150,000 each to fund their businesses. A total of $3 million in grants is awarded.

#5 - Love Our Local Business - sponsored by Intuit, this contest encourages small businesses to submit a business “wish" explaining what they would do with $5,000, and it will come true for 15 small businesses.
