If you are a small business owner in Orange County, North Carolina, you could be eligible for a grant ranging from $5,000 to $50,000. The Orange County Small Business Loan Program is awarding $1 million this year in grants and loans to for-profit small businesses in Orange County.

Eligibility

Eligible businesses must be for-profit and based out of Orange County with gross revenues that do not exceed $3 million per year. The grants are being offered to help small businesses add jobs and increase the economy in Orange County. In addition to the Orange County Small business Loan Program, the Orange County Economic Development Grant Program awards grants to small businesses and agricultural-related ventures.

Small businesses often struggle to get financing from traditional lending sources. The county wants to ensure these small businesses are supported. The grant and loan programs are designed to provide them financial help they may not otherwise be able to secure.

Qualifying small businesses must complete an extensive application which needs to include business plans and growth projections. Applications are reviewed by the president of the Board of Directors. If the business owner's application is approved, they will have an opportunity to meet with the full Board of Directors for a final decision.
