Seven Native American organizations each received $100,000 grants from the U.S. Small Business Administration's (SBA) Management and Technical Assistance Program. The organizations will use the grant money to help Native American entrepreneurs across the country to survive and grow.

The program was designed to help underserved markets and small business owners who are socially and economically disadvantaged. The grants are offered to organizations who help support small business with job creation and growth for Native American small business owners.

Supporting Native American small business

The Native American Micro Enterprise Business Services grants are provided by the SBA's Office of Native American Affairs. Organizations who applied for a grant were chosen because of their specialized training, executive education, and tools that promote business development of Native American small businesses.

The grant recipients also have substantive experience dealing with issues relating to Native American small businesses. These recipients have demonstrated they can provide a variety of management and technical assistance services to small businesses. The goal is to establish long-term survival of Native American small businesses who not only create jobs but also enhance the quality of life in their communities.
