Native American Small Businesses Get Thousands in SBA Grant Funding
The grants are provided through the SBA's Management and Technical Assistance Program. Seven businesses each received $100,000 grants for Native American Micro Enterprise Business Services. The grants are designed to promote business development of Native American small businesses.
Recipients from Oklahoma, Oregon, Montana, California, Hawaii and Nebraska will use the grant money to provide training and technical assistance to tribal members, branding, marketing and website design, financial planning, negotiation and computer literacy, and other business-related activities.
SBA Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet stated regarding the grant awards, "These grants will help empower organizations to further support the incredible contributions of Native American entrepreneurs and support them as they create their own success."
