Cleveland Foundation Grants
Non-profits must be focused in one of three specific areas. Proactive grants are awarded to organizations who create programs that have a significant and widespread impact in areas where the Cleveland community has the greatest need. Responsive grants are awarded in response to direct requests from the community to support initiatives that include arts and culture, civic affairs, economic development, education, environment, health, and social services. Donor directed grants are also awarded to organizations whose mission fits the goals of the donor.
Non-profit organizations may apply for grants that support the following areas: arts and culture, economic development, education, environment, health, human services, neighborhoods and housing. Grants are issued quarterly.
The Cleveland Foundation is supported by donations from individuals, families, organizations, and corporations. In 2012, the Foundation awarded grants of $91 million to nonprofit organizations throughout the Greater Cleveland area.
