More Than $238,000 in Grants Awarded to Philadelphia Businesses

Lincoln Financial Foundation
Non-profit businesses in the Philadelphia area whose programs increase workforce education, literacy and economic development in Philadelphia may be eligible for business grants from $7,500 to $30,000 from the Lincoln Financial Foundation. The foundation recently gave grants to 15 local non-profit businesses totaling $238,221.

The businesses who were awarded grants provide education and job training to Latino adults, support services to veterans, free legal support to small businesses, and job placement and educational support services to immigrants, to name a few. The recent grants were part of a total of $2.1 million earmarked for grants by the foundation in 2013.

The Lincoln Financial Foundation was established in 1962 as the nonprofit charitable arm of the Lincoln Financial Group. The foundation donates approximately $10 million every year to non-profit businesses working in the areas of youth & education, human services, economic development and the arts.

Qualifying non-profit businesses located in Concord, New Hampshire; Fort Wayne, Indiana; Greensboro, North Carolina; Hartford, Connecticut; Omaha, Nebraska; and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania may apply for grants. Eligible organizations must provide services in these areas that make a long-term impact on people in their communities.
